I hate to admit this, but I will: I didn’t learn how to give a good blowjob until I was nearly 40. It wasn’t until a lover pointed out that I had been doing it wrong and explained how a penis actually worked that I began to understand. Like many others influenced by 70s porn, particularly the film Deep Throat, I had assumed that the majority of sensitive nerves were located at the base of the penis. I thought that deep-throating was the ultimate skill because of this misconception. As a result, I largely ignored the head of the penis, which turned out to be a big mistake!!
After that first lesson, and being a natural people-pleaser, I quickly improved. Before long, I started receiving glowing feedback on my skills (to the point where PIV sex became secondary). As with any sexual act, the more I understood and asked for guidance, the better I became at satisfying my partner(s).
